The maternal mortality and morbidity
problem in developing countries is high. Every year 6,
00,000 women die because of problems during
pregnancy. The maternal mortality is a complex relation
between medical, cultural, logistic and socio economic
factors and prevailing health care infrastructure in the
community. The major immediate causes account for
75%of maternal death.
