The growth of air transportation is one of the most remarkable technological developments of last century. The phenomenal increase in air-travel has created severe congestion at the airports in the large cities, needing additional facilities. “Analysis and upgradation of pavement at cochin international airport for higher version aircrafts” is a project work that aims to modify the existing runway at Cochin International Airport to accommodate code F aircrafts considering all the factors. Topographic survey and Reconnaissance surveys are done in and around the proposed airport site. FAA guidelines and ICAO design criteria are strictly followed in the design of the runway. FAA designed software tool like FAARFIELD was used to design the structural airfield pavement and ABAQUS is used to perform the stress analysis of the runway.
