The study conducted with the purpose of to
scrutinize the effect strategic human resource
management practice on organizational citizenship
behaviors in commercial bank of Ethiopia Jimma
district. The study used cross-sectional conclusive
research design which includes both descriptive and
explanatory research design. Questionnaire was the
main method to collect data from 175 randomly chosen
employees’ of the targeted district. Both descriptive and
inferential analysis was performed. From the data
analysis, the study understood that as there is a high
level of SHRM practice and OCB in commercial bank
Ethiopia Jimma district. Further, it is revealed that the
significant positive relationship between SHRM
practices of training and growth, recruitment and
selection, performance appraisal, and reward and
benefits with organizational citizenship behavior. The
study has both theoretical and practical implications for
the bank in view of the fact that it has highlighted the
importance of SHRM practices in predicting OCB
