Several factors affect the characteristics of
vehicles, and among these factors is the modelling and
simulation of vehicle control shift components and which
occurs through the transmission of gears while
determining the features of the shift. Characteristics that
are affected in vehicles when modelling and simulation
are used are the vehicle's fuel-burning efficiency,
gearbox durability, operability of vehicle, and driving
comfort. This thesis used MATLAB software to design a
model and simulate simplified models for gear-shift
methods, considering traffic conditions like road slope,
calculus of vehicle speed, and other factors to assess the
transmission system's behaviour. The findings revealed
that since the throttle input was reduced, the torque of
the engine was increased whereas the speed of the engine
was reduced. Vehicle automation could be reliably
achieved by optimizing the interaction between the speed
of the engine and the torque of the engine.
