This type of qualitative research through a phenomenological approach, while the results of the study show that poverty affects various development sectors, thus giving an influence on economic development both from the micro scale and macro level, the conditions and causes of poverty are very complex, diverse so that the handling of poverty varies according to natural conditions environment, education and cultural culture of the local community, to overcome poverty a poverty alleviation program is needed that synergizes with each other and involves the government, the community, the private sector, the world of education and all stakeholders in Indonesia.
