The Government of India in the recent times has given an impetus for use of digital modes for making purchases and making payments. This paper attempts to identify the reasons for the growth of mobile wallets in India in recent times, specifically after demonetization. The paper also focuses on the challenges faced by the Indian Mobile Wallet Industry and the future prospects of this Industry.
