Turning process is the most common process
which is used in manufacturing industries. Turning
process is influenced by many factors such as cutting
speed, feed and depth of cut. In machining operations,
surface quality of the product is given most importance.
The fact is that, surface quality is highly influenced by
process parameters. However, the process parameters
are different for different responses. In this paper the
effect of nose radius and machining parameters
including cutting speed, feed and cutting fluids on
surface roughness in a turning operation are
investigated by using the Taguchi optimization method.
